Igor Mischiyev received great international recognition for his series ‘Multi Story Car Park’
The present work is part of the well-known series ‘Multi StoryCarPark’ by the Russian photographer Igor Mischiyev. It is based on a photographic documentation which was taken in different car park interiors in East Berlin, between 1998 and 2001. The motif shows an abstract view of an architecture which cannot immediately be recognized as a parking garage. Mischiyev considers these places as specific ‘modern’ building structures which provide interesting sources to interpret fundamental and ideological problems of modern architecture.
The C-print is laminated on an aluminium plate and sealed with acrylic glass. The work is verso numbered, signed and dated ‘7/15 Igor Mischiyev, 2002‘. There are a few small adhesive traces on lower right surface of the acrylic glass. The sheet size is equal to the work’s overall dimensions of 36 x 64 cm. The work is accompanied by an artist’s book which is numbered, dated and signed inside ‘7/15. 2002. Igor Mischiyev‘.
