Austrian musician, conductor and composer (1776-1841). He was a pupil of both Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Albrechtsberger. Rare ALS in German, signed “Seyfried,” one page, 7.5 x 4, April 28, 1827. Letter to music publisher Breitkopf & Hartel in Leipzig. In part (loosely translated): “The older catalogue of music in print is probably chiefly of interest to the conservatory here, for which reason I have sent it to their archivist, who will show it to the executive committee, and they will address you directly if they have any requirements. The promise to return my review of Eybler's Requiem would seem to have been forgotten, for which reason I belatedly beg you to send it back.” Light intersecting folds, and some mild toning, otherwise fine condition.
