Bohemian composer and piano virtuoso (1794-1870), whose career after his early years was based initially in London, and later at Leipzig, where he succeeded his friend and sometime pupil Felix Mendelssohn as head of the Conservatoire. AMQS on an off-white 9.75 x 12 sheet, inscribed at the top in German and signed "I. Moscheles," dated December 17, 1850. Moscheles pens eleven bars of music and lyrics in two four-line systems. In very good condition, with partial separations to central horizontal fold, a tear to the left edge, show-through from music in another hand penned on the reverse, and overall light foxing.
