Id'd Civil War Sword from the 160th OVI,<p>including a brass telescope and cabinet card belonging to Captain David D. Fowler, Company F, 160th OVI. Model 1860 staff and field sword, with Solingen marked blade, acid etched "Horstman and Sons, Philadelphia" and "Iron Proof" on top and decorated with various martial motifs. With original leather scabbard, with brass mounts. Telescope 16" extended. Includes a post-war cabinet card of Fowler. The 160th was a 100 day unit organized in Zanesville, Ohio, and served primarily as supply train guards West Virginia and in Virginia. Purchased from an estate sale in Northern Ohio.<p>Blade grey but clean, lacking wire wrap around grip. Leather solid, with no visible cracks or damage. Telescope fine.
