The present IWC Porsche Design compass watch was manufactured in Switzerland in 1980. It has an automatic movement and displays the hour, minute, second and date. The black dial is fitted with indices as well as white and red hands. The round watchcase is made of blackened aluminum, and the strap is manufactured from blackened titanium.

The watchcase is 40 mm in diameter, and the height is 15 mm. The length of the strap is 17 cm, and the lugs measure 18 mm. The watch is in good, worn condition, showing light wear, especially to the buckle. During a short-term test, the watch was fully functional, but long-term precision and regularity cannot be guaranteed.

It was founded by the American watch maker and engineer Florentine Ariosto Jones (1841-1916) in 1868 with the aim to produce high quality Swiss watches for the American market.
