The turned elephant ivory knob handle on this cane is just over 1.5" high and 2" in diameter and unscrews to reveala snuffbox. Grooves in the box were originally polychromed black and red, although some has faded and worn away.The top of the box has a coin silver central disk. The massive shaft is cork with most of the bark still on, althoughsome bark came off before cane was finished, and a few pieces have come off since. The 2-piece brass and steelferrule is almost 1.5" long, with the steel portion worn almost completely down. Ivory has yellowed somewhat, butnot cracked. Overall length is 35.5".(EST 600-800)
