iRED (Interim Resistance Exercise Device) squat support bar attested as flown and used on the International Space Station, measuring 33è in length, and featuring a mountable stopper to the base, and above this a sliding, adjustable squat bar holder with two removable pins, which can be raised and lowered to a preferred height. The upper portion of the bar features an engraved parts section: ‰ÛÏIRED Squat Support, Top, P/N SEG46116034-301.‰Û Includes its original deaccession bag with affixed labels, indicating that this bar is one part of the ‰ÛÏKLST410189-303, Squat Bar Support Assy, Flight, PO FH80, 516.‰Û Also included is a ‰ÛÏJSC Project Parts‰Û tag struck through in red felt tip and marked ‰ÛÏIII,‰Û issued for the ‰ÛÏSquat Bar Support Assy,‰Û listing ‰ÛÏAero-Tech‰Û as the manufacturer, and dated to January 12, 1999. The deaccession bag features a sticker marked ‰ÛÏ2 of 2,‰Û with the first bar also being offered in this space auction. In fine condition.

The iRED was the first resistive exercise system built specifically for space. It was installed on the ISS in 2000 with the first long-duration crew. It proved so effective it was used on the station until 2009 when the vibration-isolated Advanced Resistive Exercise Device (ARED) was ready.
