iRED (Interim Resistance Exercise Device) squat support bar attested as flown and used on the International Space Station, measuring 33˝ in length, and featuring a mountable stopper to the base, and above this a sliding, adjustable squat bar holder with two removable pins, which can be raised and lowered to a preferred height. The upper portion of the bar features an engraved parts section: “IRED Squat Support, Top, P/N SEG46116034-301.” Includes its original deaccession bag with affixed labels, indicating that this bar is one part of the “KLST410189-303, Squat Bar Support Assy, Flight, PO FH80, 516.” The bag features a sticker marked “1 of 2.” In fine condition.

The iRED was the first resistive exercise system built specifically for space. It was installed on the ISS in 2000 with the first long-duration crew. It proved so effective it was used on the station until 2009 when the vibration-isolated Advanced Resistive Exercise Device (ARED) was ready.
