A RARE ANTIQUE ISLAMIC BRASS MUGHAL DECCANI BIRD HAMSA, DECCAN INDIA CIRCA 16TH-17TH CENTURY, oil lamp
finial in the form of a bird, South India Deccan India, cast in the form of a bird, either a peacock or a goose (hamsa), body and wings,
the tail feathers metamorphosed into an exuberant floral spray, a further floral sprig clasped in the beak Zoomorphic vessels, and in
particular decorative finials for oil vessels, are strongly characteristic of metalwork from South Central India. A number of related
