RIFLE BY REMINGTON. Cal. 7.62x54R. S# 262756. Remington produced rifles for Imperial Russia during WWI. CAI import marked 31.6" bbl. Shank of bbl. havs Russian Imperial Eagle, Remington marks, "1917" date, Russian acceptance mark, "SA" Finnish acceptance mark & crossed out Finnish S#; Russian applied S# on bbl. along w/ "262756" applied on left side of Imperial Russian stamped hex receiver. Finnish features include stepped front sight blade, tangent ladder rear sight remarked from Archins to meters, & finger join stock set having upper handguard. Matching numbered bbl. & Tula bolt numbered to match; non matching buttplate. Finger joints of stock have yellow paint. Right side of buttstock has cyrillic stamped appearing like "NK". Black leather sling w/ leather "dog collars". Consignor states rifle had old Civil Guard S# stamped out, new Civic Guard S# applied & assigned to unit from Sortavala, Finland. CONDITION: Good overall as arsenal refinished w/ moderate handling marks, peppery oxidation & light pitting. Stock has deep gouges. Good bore w/ strong rifling. (22-602/MD). CURIO. $300-400.
