1) New Zealand-Made Fighting Knife w/ Cast Aluminum "D" Handle. Spear point double-edged blade is marked "AKE / REGD". 6 1/8" blade. 10 7/8" overall. Aluminum handle shows coarse wartime finish. Brown leather scabbard w/ retaining strap & angled belt loop. Scabbard is unmarked. Constructed w/ split rivets. CONDITION: knife blade retains a large portion of its restored blue finish. Blade has been lightly sharpened. Handle is the dull oxidized finish developed by aluminum w/ wear & staining. Scabbard is in good serviceable but worn condition w/ tight stitching. Retaining strap is broken at the stud closure. 2) Trench Knife Fashioned from French Gras Bayonet. Workmanship appears typical of a field repair organization. Blade w/ "T" back is marked on top "ST. ETIENNE / 1877". Steel "D" guard w/ forward pointing thumb rest. Handle appears to be wooden, covered w/ a rubber-like substance. Pommel is Hex nut & riveted solid. Blade has deep notches next to guard at top & bottom of blade. Scabbard is fashioned from the original by shortening & flattening at tip. CONDITION: blade has been turned overall gray w/ peppery oxidation. Handle has wear & scuffing. Guard suffers wear & loss of its black finish. Scabbard has black coating over oxidation w/ light wear & flaking. 3) Theatre-Made Trench Knife. 8" triangular blade. 12 1/8" overall. Possibly fashioned from U.S. Model 1917 trench knife. Equipped w/ very heavy square "D" type guard. Round hardwood handle w/ steel ferrules. Pommel is fastened by two wood screws. Knife is unmarked & shows workmanship typical of front-line soldiers. Scabbard is fashioned from copper tube & brass strap. Equipped w/ handmade copper 1910 belt hook. CONDITION: metal parts have turned an overall gray w/ peppery oxidation. Numerous grinding & tool marks. Hardwood handle has light wood & staining. Copper & brass patina'd w/ areas of verdigris. 4) Trench Knife Made from Shortened U.S. Krag Bayonet. Likely for use in WWII. 8 1/4" fullered blade. Fuller extends through point. 12 3/4" overall. Left ricasso marked 1902. Right ricasso marked "U.S.". Handle including smooth walnut grips. Crossguard in pommel remains unmodified. Worn leather sheath inked on the back "T-6342". CONDITION: blade shows light grinding marks, light sharpening & heat discoloration in the point area. Balance of metal w/ wear & handling marks has turned overall gray & patina. Grips have wear & handling marks throughout. Sheath is heavily worn w/ scuffing, flexing, missing stitching & open tip. Retaining strap is not present. (02-24537-6/RW). NON-GUN. $600-900.
