INLAID HEPPLEWHITE GRANDFATHER'S CLOCK. Refinished mahogany with poplar and pine secondary woods. Bracket feet and scalloped aprons. Band inlay around the edges of the case with a large inlaid circle on the lower front. Molded waist with an inlaid oval below the door which has a large vertical oval. Reeded quarter columns. Original paint on the face with a calendar and man in the moon dial. Dovetailed hood includes matching border inlay and a broken arch crest with variegated rosettes. Freestanding pilasters. Old, partial Charleston, S. C., clock shop label on the interior. Restorations to veneer and case including a replaced structural board beneath the side waist molding. Old writing on the interior door. Includes weights and pendulum. Illuatrated on page 184. 91 1/2"h.
