A single-sheet deed of sale/land transfer from Thoughtful Ingraham, to his brother, Daniel Ingraham, both of Saybrook, CT, dated November 19, 1845, for claim and right of "a certain peace of land lying in the first School District in the first Society of Said Saybrook, containing about two and half Acres." Witnessed by John Shipman and Mary B. Lay. 4 13/16in. x 7 7/8in. Condition: At least four vertical and two horizontal folds; toning/foxing; edge folds.  PLEASE NOTE: THE DOCUMENT IS TONED/DARKENED WITH AGE; IMAGES APPEAR LIGHTER ON DIFFERENT SCREENS. This lot and the other Chapman-related items offered in this sale were part of a collection of papers and ephemera related to the family of Edward Mortimer Chapman (1862-1952), a Connecticut pastor, academic, and author, and a descendant of Robert Chapman, one of the first settlers of Saybrook, Connecticut (c. 1635).
