INDIAN MADE LOT OF TWO ITEMS: BOWCASE AND QUIVER
INDIAN MADE LOT OF TWO ITEMS: BOWCASE AND QUIVER WITH BOW, SOUTHERN PLAINS, LATE 19TH CENTURY. Owner states that this is 1880's and according to Moon's family had come from Geronimo and the Apache. 1) Constructed of commercial leather, decorated with bands and panels of red wool felt; the narrow triangular pendent from the opening of each the quiver and bow case hung with pairs of long metal cones. Size: Bow case 30-1/2 long x 3-1/2" wide, quiver 26-3/4" long x 5-1/2" wide. CONDITION: General surface soiling, no apparent damage. 2) Bow of ash, recurved style, sinew-backed. The four grooves filed on the edge of the bow are similar to those on the forearm of the Springfield Trapdoor of lot #3543. Size: Length 42", width 1-5/16". CONDITION: Most of the sinew backing missing. 4-55207 BL46 (6,000-8,000)"
