1927-A scarce 16 size, open face pocket watch by South Bend Watch Co. Stem wind, stem set. The singlele-sunk pearl tone dial bears black arabic numerals in the hour chapter, and black hash marks in the outer chapter ring with black arabic numerals and red arabic numerals in 5-second intervals. The hands are blued, spade and whip, and the seconds hand is a blued whip. The face shows light speckling and is marked "Studebaker". The front bezel screws off, and the glass crystal appears to be original. The rear case bears a simple engraving of a steam engine. The case screws off, and both it and the cuvet interior are inscribed "Navco/ Security/ 10 Karat/ Gold Filled/ Railroad Model/ Patented". The 3/4 plate 21 jewel movement is nickel plated, demaskeened, and engraved "8/ Adjustments/ South Bend/ Watch Co./ U.S.A./ Studebaker/ 21 Jewels/ Double Roller". The serial number, 1179918, dates the watch to 1927. This scarce and desirable railroad watch has been recently serviced and runs well with all original parts and a gold train. HKA#64605
