AN EXTREMELY RARE & IMPORTANT ISLAMIC MUGHAL DECCANI BRASS PARROT WITH NIGARI INSCRIPTIONS,
CENTRAL INDIA OR SOUTH INDIA DECCAN CIRCA 16TH-18TH CENTURY. Extremely Rare & important piece with two owners'
inscriptions in Nagari and Arabic on the Parrot's Tail, This cast brass bird is quite naturalistically modelled with vigorous incised
detailing with, on its back a round blanket or saddle with cross-hatched decoration. Its chest and underside of the tail have drilled
openings and it stands on a rectangular base with a circular hole for attachment. The chest and tail holes may indicate its function as
an oil container, although they may be a later alteration because the oil outlet on similar objects is usually cast as a projection with
the wing decorated with carved fishscale pattern with geometric and scrolling vegetal border and central palmette, with carved
features, And With two owners' inscriptions in Nagari and Arabic on the Parrot's Long Tail, A Similar Example with Nagari and Arabic
