<td width="100%">
This is a beautiful Star And File footed clear glass two handled open compote made by The Imperial Glass Corp of Bellaire, Ohio circa 1920's. It is their No. M612 which is shown in a catalog which dates from 1910 to 1929 and shown in Imperial Glass by Margaret & Douglas Archer page 120. This nice Jelly Compote is 4-1/4" tall at the serrated rim, 5-1/2" in diameter plus the two handles and the foot is 4-1/8" in diameter. This was a very popular pattern and I believe the pattern was made up until the close of business in 1986. Some pieces were marked with one of the various marks used by the company from the early years. This piece is unmarked. There may be some bubbles and straw marks but there are no chips, flakes or cracks. That being said, one of the scallopes on the rim is shorter that the others due to a popped bubbles from the time of manufacture, and it just melted down. There is also an area on the bottom of the foot that looks like it might have been a bubble at one time and just flattened into the base. It's about 1/4" in diameter. The glass is very clear and bright.
