This is a lady's regimental dance card holder from either the Russian Empire or the Austrian. The central device on the double headed eagle is a white cross.

The item is composed of a sword which actually holds a pencil so that the card can be marked. To hold the card there is a regimental sabretache as worn by cavalry officers. The back and sides of the sabretache are coverec with red leather, as were the originals.

The ribbon that is similar to a sword knot is gold and black. It serves as a wrist bamnd for the lady who carried it. There is no dance card in the sabretache.

We believe that the sabretache is probably unmarked silver while the Imperial Eagle is clearly gold.
