This is a lady's regimental dance card holder that we believe came from the Russian Empire. The central device on the double headed eagle is a white cross. The wrist holder is similar to the ribbon of the order of St George.

The item is composed of a sword which actually holds a pencil so that the card can be marked. To hold the card there is a regimental dispatch case as worn by cavalry officers. The back and sides of the dispatch case are covered with red leather, as were the originals.

The ribbon that is similar to a sword knot is gold and black similar to the colours of the order of St George. It serves as a wrist band for the lady who carried it. There is no dance card in the holder.

We believe that the sabretache is probably unmarked silver while the Imperial Eagle is clearly gold.
