IMBODEN, JOHN D.
(1823 - 1895) Confederate brigadier general who served under Stonewall Jackson at Cross Keys and Port Republic, later severely wounded at Seven Days. L.S. ""J. D. Imboden"" 2pp. 4to., Staunton, Va., June 19, 1860 to President James Buchanan concerning the appointment of Mr. J. W. Brockenbrough to the Supreme Court. Signed by the future Confederate general along with his brother, George W. Imboden who became a colonel of the 62nd Virginia. Interestingly, Brockenbrough served as a pall-bearer for both ex-President Tyler and ""Stonewall"" Jackson. Very good.
