<b>105. [IDENTIFIED CARPETBAG II]</b>
<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899>Colorful bag in shades of brown, tan, cream and red with floral design, 11½"x11½", with light brown string handles and red leather side panels, 1½" in width. Fabric loop at center flap attaches to brass button closing the bag. The bag is lined with beige fabric with floral pink lining on flap. Left side is partially detached from leather panel along seam; right panel is separated at bottom edge at seam; leather evidences moderate wear with some cracking to right panel; one carrying string severed at midpoint; occasional fabric separation along outside flap where it folds over bag. This carpetbag was carried by <b>J. J. Murphy</b>, Co. F, 31st ME Inf. Stenciled on inner lining is his name and rank as “<i>Co. P. 31 Me. Reg.</i>” in two lines. The 31st fought at the Battle of the Wilderness suffering great casualties, also at Spotsylvania Courthouse, North Anna [River], Cold Harbor, and ‘The Crater’, participating in the siege of Petersburg and at Weldon Railroad and Poplar Spring Church.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
