<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899>Uncommon sixth plate, a three-quarter-length seated portrait in uniform, identified as <b>James Conner</b>, 2nd MA Cavalry, an 18-year-old shoemaker from Salem, MA, born in Killargan, Ireland. Clear image with tinted cheeks and buttons. Backing separate from glass image. Contained in hinged double case. Accompanied by his Enlistment form stating that Conner had enlisted in August 1864 at Salem for three years. Boldly engrossed, but unsigned by “<i>Captain & Provost Marshal</i>” of 5th District. Light wrinkling; else Fine. Attractively matted and contained under glass within simple wood frame. Overall 11½"x14¼". Fine.
