.22 caliber ,seven-shot. Marked 3 3/16" octagonal barrel, silver-plated brass frame, blued cylinder and barrel, rosewood grips. S/n 6518.

Engraved "W. Hale Jr. NC". William Hale, Jr. of Catawba County, North Carolina, was a lieutenant of Co. K, 35th North Carolina Volunteer Infantry. KIA at New Bern, North Carolina, 1862.
