I am the great I am Gen'l Jackson. One of the stranger manuscript offerings we've had: Four leaves comprising 6 pp. of musings, ramblings, and penmanship exercises of 24-year-old Addison P. Thayer, apparently Boston, 1838, 7 3/4 x 9 3/4 . A wild array of writings: "The Yankee journal states that there is a man in Vermont so tall that he cannot tell when his toes are cold...I will try to be resolute. I am the great I am Gen'l Jackson...To find the area of a circle...Many men of many minds, many birds of many kinds, Many fishes in the sea, many men that don't agree...I promise to pay Peter Snooks or order Two Cents on demand with interest...I am twenty-four years old today! Hurah good...Tuesday Eve, past eleven o'clock hi diddle diddle the cat is in the fiddle...Been reading the paper. Hurah for the Whigs of N.J...Well this is not very good writing, so I will stop...." Some staining, else very good.
