This Artist Proof depicts avaition history as Jimmy Dolittle leaves the deck of the USS Hornet to lead a command of sixteen B-25 bombers to the Japanese mainland. Taking-off from the deck of an aircraft carrier by a heavy bomber had never been done before; led by Dolittle himself. While discussing his life, Dolittle remarked: "I would never want to relive my life; I could never be this lucky again"; a fitting title for this print. It is double matted in a navy blue suede, with beaded borders, and a sky blue trim. The frame is gloss black 35 in. w X 33 in. h. There is only one signature on this print: "J.H. Dolittle". An artist proof by WIllliam S. Phillips. Make room in your home office for aviation history.
