"I Always Did 'Spise a Mule" mechanical bank, marked with the April 27, 1897 patent date, features the jockey on a bench in front of the mule with the bottom notation "PATd APR 22d 1879 & PENDG," variation in hole pattern on the basewhen comparing with the later Stevens version, base is 10 1/8" long, 3" wide, 6" tall, 80% original paint, never retouched, "Always Did Spise A Mule" clearly embossed under horse and Jockey, .
