This piece always has brown hat with an orange band. Same as Hum 7, except 7 always has black hat. Same as boy in Puppy Love, except Puppy Love boy always has black hat. Old name "Violinist" or "The Wandering Fiddler". TW 31 Dec. 1989. This piece is painted with lead or tin based paints in Faience technique. Colors are bright & glossy. Hummel measures 10 3/4" tall, TMK-1 Hum 2. No cracks or chips. Head has been broken off and glued back. Hummel does have light crazing to base.

Provenance: From the estate collection of Donald Deeks (1931-2020) of Venice, Florida, who assembled what is purported to be one of the most important collections of rare Hummel figurines in existence. Blackwell Auctions has been commissioned by his family to sell the entire collection of about 2,000 pieces, many of them either unique or nearly so. The auction of the entire estate collection will take place in December or January. A small selection is being offered in today's auction.
