Fountain pen signatures of all nine members of the 1937 Supreme Court on an off-white 4 x 5.5 sheet, including: Charles E. Hughes, James C. McReynolds, Louis D. Brandeis, George Sutherland, Pierce Butler, Harlan F. Stone, Owen J. Roberts, Benjamin N. Cardozo, and Hugo Black. A clipped magazine image of the justices is affixed at the top, and a clipped portion of Supreme Court letterhead is affixed at the bottom. In very good condition, with a horizontal fold passing through Butler’s signature, overall bends and creases, and foxing (primarily towards to bottom). Accompanied by an unsigned program for a celebration of the sesquicentennial of the Supreme Court on February 1, 1940. The date of these scarce signatures, all on a single page, can be targeted to a brief five-month period between August 19, 1937, the date Black joined the court, and January 17, 1938, when Sutherland retired.
