<td width="100%">
A very charming and unique piece that can be worn either as a brooch or as a pendant necklace - the pendant has a bale that clips on and off from the bow pin that it hangs from. This very large brooch / pendant has a heart shaped pendant which dangles from a very prettily etched bow. The brooch is goldtone with very ornate antiqued scroll work around the outside edge of the pendant. The inside of the pendant is genuine mother of pearl and a gold tone overlay has been applied on to the mother of pearl which is a small flower and four trailing leaves, each leaf having two hand set marcasites (for a total of eight marcasite stones all together,) inset on to the trailing leaves. This is a very stunning and unique piece of 1950's costume jewellery, surprisingly unsigned, and it is in minty condition and looks as if it was never worn. There is a safety close on the back of the bow pin. The heart shaped drop pendant measures 2" inches in height by 1-3/4" inches wide. The total measurement of the brooch, including the bow has a measurement of 2-3/4" in height from north to south. This charming piece could be worn in a multitude of ways with the bow brooch being worn alone and the pendant, with the addition of a chain, being worn as a necklace !! One of the prettiest pieces of 1950's costume jewelry I have ever seen - and so versatile. Please note the pendant does not open for photos.
