Included in this lot we have wonderful set of Hudson Bay Red Yellow Heart “Cornaline d'Aleppo” exotic trade beads dating to the 17th-19th Century. These 1600-1800’s beads are regularly referred to as “yellow hearts” due to the opaque yellow core at the “heart” or center of each bead that is finished with a red semi-translucent outer shell (showing the yellow partially through). This outstanding strand shows a unusually large size with semi-transparent outer shell. These authentic early trade beads display very well and have been appraised at a value of over $900. Provenance: From the collection of Dr. David and Marsha Bowerly of Oregon. The piece comes with an original museum collection tag stating, “5198 / Cornaline d'Aleppo $285.00" and "Tomsky 9". The necklace measures 33" in circumference with some of the larger beads measuring 1" long by 2" in diameter.
