This is a Hudson Bay Fur Company Montreal, Canada silver trade cross on Indian trade bead necklace from circa 1780-1740. The piece shows a silver etched trade cross hallmarked, “HB” with a beaver like effigy and hallmarked by the artist, “JK”. The piece has wonderful heart cutouts on a double barred cross figure. The trade cross pendant is on a strand of Northern Plains Native American Indian trade beads including copper trade beads, semi-translucent polished sea glass beads, padre blue wound pound beads, and various greasy yellow wound glass beads on a sinew strand. The cross measures 2.5”x1.5” on a 28.5” long strung necklace. This comes in a black display box with glass top that is 8 3/8”x12 3/8”.
