The lot features an original Native American Indian Trade Silver cross necklace made by “J.T.” Jonathan Tyler of Montreal, Quebec, Canada 1810-1817. This museum quality silver artifact shows the correct hallmarks such as: “Montreal”, the crown, “HB” (Hudson Bay), the walking lion (attributing silver to be sterling), and “J.T.” (Jonathan Tyler’s touch mark). The piece is a very rare and uncommonly seen religious artifact from the Native Americans showing a three bar or papal cross hand engraved showing excellent quality. The piece is from the Montreal Hudson Bay Fur Co and was created circa 1810-1817. The front of the cross shows a set glass or gem set stone causing the “HB” hallmark to be magnified. The piece is on a trade bead necklace showing rich red faceted glass oblong beads and brass or copper trade beads all from the 18th to early 19th century. Cross measures 5.25”L x 2.5”W. The trade bead necklace is 33” in circumference. The piece is displayed in a glass top black case 16.25"x12.25".
