Business mailing envelope, 9.5 x 4, flown by Hughes on his 1938 around-the-world flight. Envelope is addressed in type, “To whom it may concern, Airdrome, Yakutsk, U.S.S.R.,” with an “Amtorg Trading Corp, New York,” return address printed in the upper left. Also typed across the top is, “Howard Hughes Goodwill Flight,” with a July 10, 1938, New York, New York, postal cancellation, two George Washington USPS stamps as well as one Soviet postage stamp; and a printed fabric blue and orange 1939 World’s Fair flag, 11.75 x 8, also carried on the flight. Both are nicely matted and framed with a small descriptive plaque to an overall size of 19.25 x 24. In fine condition.
