A whimsical piece of cinematic holiday history, this original “Whoville” mail envelope prop was custom-made for production use in Ron Howard’s beloved Christmas classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), starring Jim Carrey as the iconic Grinch.
Printed on festive red cardstock, the envelope measures approximately 6" x 6" and features distinctive Whoville-inspired graphics, including a printed “Whoville Postal Service” postmark and a playful Whoville-style postage stamp. The addressed recipient, Thomas J. Wholihan, 531 NE Whoville Circle, Whoville, WV 37, is printed in stylized handwriting consistent with the production’s signature Seussian flair. The back of the envelope carries printed fold lines, completing its fully realized on-screen appearance.
Props like this were used in the Grinch’s chaotic postal scenes and within the elaborate Whoville set dressing, adding depth and authenticity to the bustling, cheer-filled world.
