A festive piece of Whoville history, this original prop envelope was custom-made for use in Ron Howard’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), starring Jim Carrey as the iconic Grinch.
Printed in vibrant holiday red, the envelope features a whimsical address to “Mr. M. May Who, 345 W. Whooville Lane, Whoville, WV 29”, along with a hand-designed “Whoville Postal Service” mark and a Seussian-style postage stamp featuring a holiday wreath and bell motif. The stylized lettering and curved, playful composition capture the unmistakable Dr. Seuss aesthetic that defined the film’s Academy Award–winning production design.
Measuring 6.5" x 4.75" and printed on both sides, this delightful piece of prop mail was likely used as background set dressing during scenes in the Whoville Post Office or Christmas mail sequences, helping to fill the world with the colorful charm of Whoville.
A wonderfully displayable and instantly recognizable artifact from one of the most beloved holiday films of all time.
