A rare set of three revised storyboard pages accompanied by the original production-issued cover letter, created for Ron Howard’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000). Dated October 1, 1999, the memo, printed on production letterhead titled THE GRINCH, was distributed to crew members with updated storyboard inserts for the film’s “Grinch Steals Christmas” sequence.
The set includes:
• The official revision memo outlining which storyboard pages were to be replaced (pages 61, 133g, and 139).
• Three detailed storyboard pages featuring panels with colorful production highlights and annotations. These frames depict memorable Grinch moments, including his mischievous antics and interactions with Max, with musical and timing notes reflecting the “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” sequence.
Each page is three-hole punched for binder use and contains vivid blue and orange highlighting used by the production team to track changes and assignments. Together, they provide a fascinating glimpse into the evolving visual development of one of cinema’s most beloved holiday films.
A wonderful piece of production history connecting directly to the film’s storyboarding and creative process.
