A rare pair of original production-used script sides from Ron Howard’s Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000).
These script sides, dated November 5th and November 23rd, 1999, were distributed to the film’s cast for use during principal photography at Universal Studios. Sides like these were essential on set, providing only the scenes scheduled to shoot that day, with key dialogue, stage directions, and revisions marked for continuity and timing. Each packet contains detailed scene breakdowns and cast listings, with the November 5th set consisting of 10 pages and the November 23rd set 13 pages, both measuring approximately 7.5" x 6".
The pages bear the distinctive The Grinch production header. These sides represent the intense attention to detail and collaboration required to bring Whoville and the Grinch’s lair to life, an elaborate production that won the Academy Award for Best Makeup.
A fascinating glimpse into the filmmaking process of one of the most visually imaginative Christmas films ever made.
