A white distressed set dressing candle used in Ron Howard’s Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000).
This production-made candle, measuring 5.75” tall and 3” in diameter, was acquired for use as part of the detailed set decoration inside the Grinch’s cave lair at Mount Crumpit. The prop is made of real wax with deliberate aged distressing, wax drips, and discoloration applied by the film’s art department to enhance the cave’s grimy, lived-in aesthetic.
Pieces like this helped bring the Grinch’s cluttered and whimsical environment to life, filled with odd gadgets, scavenged trinkets, and eerie illumination. The base includes a metal insert typical of practical set candles, suggesting it may have been mounted for stability during filming.
A wonderfully atmospheric artifact from one of the most imaginative holiday film sets ever created.

The item(s) may exhibit varying levels of wear and studio distressing, as detailed in the listing images that provide an accurate representation of the condition.
