This colorful prop gift box was used as set dressing inside Farfingle’s department store during the production of How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Universal, 2000), directed by Ron Howard and starring Jim Carrey. Farfingle’s was one of Whoville’s most delightfully over-the-top retail locations, filled with fantastical displays of Seussian holiday cheer and this box is a perfect example of that creative design.
Constructed from pink cardboard, the cube-shaped gift box features stylized cut-out patterns of a Christmas tree motif on multiple sides, revealing a metallic silver layer beneath. It’s finished with an iridescent white ribbon tied neatly at the top, giving it a shimmering, magical look under set lights. The box measures 6” x 6” x 6” and remains in fine production-used condition.
A wonderful piece of Whoville’s handcrafted charm, this prop gift box perfectly captures the playful visual aesthetic that made How the Grinch Stole Christmas a modern holiday classic.
