A rare and instantly recognizable prop gift box used by Molly Shannon as Betty Lou Who in the “Present-Pass-Along” sequence from Ron Howard’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000). Although the festive scene was ultimately deleted from the final cut, footage and production stills clearly show Shannon’s character joyfully passing along this distinctive green-and-red holiday package during the Whoville Christmas festivities.
The prop box measures 5" x 5" x 3" and is wrapped in green foil paper with large red polka dots, finished with a red and white gingham ribbon tied into a cheerful bow, an unmistakably Whoville design aesthetic. The box opens to reveal the handwritten name “Molly” on a production label inside the lid, confirming use by actress Molly Shannon.
This piece embodies the film’s whimsical production design and the over-the-top holiday spirit that made The Grinch an enduring classic. A charming, verified artifact from Whoville’s most festive family, and a true gem for collectors of Seussian cinema magic.
