CF5 Medlar 74<BR>Here is a scarce subvariety where the word "Government" is hyphenated after the letter "v," rather than after the letter "o" as on Medlar 73. An approximate one-eighth inch edge tear is noticed along with some ink erosion. Comptroller Francis R. Lubbock later served as Governor of Texas from 1861-1863 (winning by only 124 votes), then as aide-de-camp to Jefferson Davis, and was captured along with Davis after the end of the Civil War.
