These jazzed-up cars rode low in front and high in back, like the California Hot Rods that were the craze at the time, and were painted with glossy, eye-popping colors that really caught the attention of the kids of the day. Offered here is an original production model, from a childhood collection, of the rarest regular production model from 1971, the Purple Oldsmobile 442. Less than twelve are known today. Painted a lustrous purple with twin strips on the hood bearing bold blue stars, this baby was ready to hit the streets and leave a trail of fire behind. This car grades about C8. A rare piece of Hot Wheels history that can be parked in <I>your</B></I> garage for the right bid. <B>Estimate: $7,000-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium.
