ALS, one page, 5 x 7.75, Office of the Tribune letterhead, New York, May 7, 1865. Letter to J. I. B. Broadwell of the Chicago Sanitary Fair. In part: “I enclose herewith as many photographs as will probably be required to glut the market. As to arms or trophies, not having used the former in our late terrible struggles I have had no opportunity to acquire the latter.” In fine condition, with slightly trimmed edges.
