<B>Horace Greeley: Rare Portrait Pocket Watch.</B></I> His familiar portrait with beard and glasses, "The Horace Greeley Watch" above, and "Tribune Founded 1841" below. The case of the watch is reminiscent of the 1888 jugate campaign watches, and it may well be by the same manufacturer. Probably issued in 1891 to honor Greeley's paper on its 50th anniversary. Waterbury Watch Co. dial. Excellent condition; it winds with normal tension, but it does not tick. The only example we have ever encountered.
