Horace E. Dimick Marked St. Louis Derringer Percussion Pocket Pistol
Born 1809 in Vermont, Horace Dimick established himself in Saint Louis, Missouri in 1849, where he would remain until his death in 1873. Dimick's firm was a maker of arms, in addition to acquiring arms from outside sources and placing their mark on them. German silver blade front and notch rear sights, with "H.E. DIMICK/ CAST - STEEL" on the top and right sides of the twist decorated barrel, with light border engraving on the breech and tang and scroll designs on the bolster. The lock is border engraved and marked "H.E. DIMICK", with scroll designs on the hammer. Checkered full length stock, with a Schnabel tip and German silver escutcheons, accent plates, engraved trigger guard, wrist inscription plate and teardrop shaped plate on the birds head butt.

Condition: Fine. The barrel and hammer show a brown patina, with stripped still visible pattern on the barrel. The lock is a darker blue color, with minimal pitting. Some scattered light handling marks are visible on the metal overall. Checkering on the stock shows considerable wear. Stock has been repaired, on the underbelly with replaced sections of wood through the frame that have been repaired. The wood has some scattered cracks. There are pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
