Hopi Shallow Bowl by Kathy Adams, measures 5.5''D x 1.5''H, signed on bottom by artist, Artist Bio: ''Kathy Adams is a Native Hopi Indian of the Sun Clan, living in Second Mesa, Shipaucovi, AZ. Her wonderfully detailed pottery often features the Sun Face, symbol of her clan. Her fine lines are indicative of the Naha family designs. The alternating geometrical designs, fan out from the center and cover the surface of the pot. The Hopi Dawa, or Sun Kachina, is the predominant theme of many of Kathy's pieces. Her work features smaller sun-forehead motifs grouped together around the perimeter of the pottery in an symmetrical pattern. Her functional style, combined with traditional Hopi motifs provides for a striking combination of form and grace. Using natural pigments from her homeland, Kathy has achieved some very nice hues in her coloration.''
