Featured in this lot is this polychrome pottery vessel from Hopi Pueblo Tewa artist Colleteta circa 1930-1970's. The pottery vessel features a wonderfully and professionally crafted ceramic construction that shows a polychrome decoration of geometric patterns that shows black natural dye on a reddish brown slip. The pottery vessel is marked on the bottom as follows: Collateta. Hopi, the westernmost group of Pueblo Indians, situated in what is now northeastern Arizona, on the edge of the Painted Desert. They speak a Northern Uto-Aztecan language. The condition of this pottery vessel is is well preserved with some wear tot he natural dye but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this pottery vessel is 3 1/4" x 5 1/4" x 5 1/4". The collective weight of this pottery vessel is 1lb.
