This is a very early original hand carved Hopi Native American Indian Kachina doll from circa early 1900. The piece has a wonderful polychrome painted design and is carved of Cottonwood. The piece shows rectangular eyes and has a wearing geometric designed wearing blanket. The feet are semi-circle carved and the piece has very unique and extremely rare three part paddles coming from the top and sides of the rectangular head. The paddles have been modernly re-attached. Provenance: from a private French Native American Indian artifact museum collection. Measures 16.75"H x 13"W x 2.5"D.
