Vintage 7 x 10 Sports Pix magazine photo of Wagner waiting for a throw, signed and inscribed in black ink, “With best wishes to Buzz & Don, Honus Wagner.” Photo is affixed to a slightly larger off-white scrapbook page. In fine condition, with two horizontal folds to image, as well as a few areas of mild red discoloration, including some passing over, but not obscuring in any way, the signature.

One of baseball’s five original Hall of Fame inductees—and tied with Babe Ruth for the second-highest vote total in that inaugural class of 1936—Wagner certainly earned the honor. Frequently cited as the greatest player of the dead-ball era of the early 20th century—when low-scoring games and a lack of home runs were the norm—Wagner secured eight National League batting titles between 1900 and 1911...a tally that ties him with far more recent fellow HOFer Tony Gwynn. Rare in such a large format, and highly collectible as such.
