Interesting lot highlighted by two autograph documents in French by Honore Gabriel Riqueti, comte de Mirabeau, including:

An autograph acknowledgment of debt, signed "Cte. de Mirabeau, fils," one page, 6.5 x 4.25, Aigueperse, September 6, 1771, towards Sir Mathurin Brousseaud who gave him 4900 pounds in exchange of wood. This was in fact a scam organized by Mirabeau in order to get money. Includes an ALS by his father, the well-known economist Victor Riqueti Marquis de Mirabeau, signed "Mirabeau," addressed to the same Brousseaud about his son's scams.

A third-person appointment request, signed "Le Comte de Mirabeau," one page, 4.5 x 7.5, April 23, 1786. In part (translated): "The Count of Mirabeau is pleased to express regrets to his Excellency Baron of Heidelberg-Reventlov and begs him to be allowed to pay court to him during his visit in Brunswick." Includes a second autograph letter signed by his father, "Mirabeau." In fine condition.
